The purpose of the bounty is to better the throughput figures from 90% to 100% and to ensure that the specialised laboratories are utilised 100% from the first day. Students received their handbooks, practical guides, study guides as well as all the components they need to conduct their project.

Prof Adisa Jimoh, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, said: “To gain state of the art knowledge one needs state of the art equipment and support services to be successful.” He also invited them to make an appointment and discuss with him, should they experience any problems during their study at his Department.

Mr Sachin Sewpersad, responsible for marketing activities at the department, explained all the benefits available to the best performing students, which excited them a lot.

Prof Jimoh congratulated Mr Jan-Hendrik Hofmeyr, lecturer for Telecommunications II, and Mr Glen Moepi, technical laboratory
manager, on this good pass rate in the past and motivated students to aim for 100% this year.
